Natalie Tian Summary for - Week 1 

 Summary for the first week 

I have created my page account and added Information about me to my page. Additionally, I have learned how to add words and how to start editing the article. Moreover I have additionally added pictures to my page and decoration to make my page more colorful and interesting. In addition, I did learn a lot of facts about Wikipedia through the trading section. I really like the practice section that has video tutorials provided and J can follow step by step. At first it was hard for me because it was my first try but then I try to practice 2-3 time I get the idea of how to do basic eidit.


Interesting point about the class


For the first week I have learned a lot about Wikipedia. From knowing nothing about Wikipedia to knowing that it is an online encyclopedia that means everyone can write an article about topics that they are interested in and can edit any article, word at any time. I find it interesting and exciting to learn indeed more on the different methods and processes of editing and writing articles. 


Question I have during first perspectives of Wikipedia


What is the factor that makes Wikipedia work and not failure because people do not respect each other by changing articles back and forth?

Summary for this week I have learned how to find license free photos for applying with Wikipedia articles. In a lot of interesting topics they still need photos to mention. For example, I have found a lot of good films and series but they are lacking the picture or poster of the film they are talking about. I wanted to add meaningful details in the article but I have found that there is no license free.    The things I did edit I  have  searched through a lot of the topics such as music, media, film and entertainment industry I am interested in and got my hands on fixing a lot of grammar errors. Interesting point about this week learning  I found interest in the “state” . I got to understand different kinds of roles in our everyday life society. In my perspective, I can feel the connection of this topic with my field in the media.
